Nomination and Election of club officers for 2009

This is a two-step process with just a few things that members need to be aware of.

1     Nomination of candidates for office

Due to our pending approval to become a new SCCA region, we are nominating and electing club officers for 2009 assuming that we will become an SCCA region soon.  The required SCCA region officer positions are:                                          People who have been nominated so far are:

·         Regional Executive (RE)                                Cal Craner, Eric Thomas

·         Assistant RE                                                   Tommy Taylor

·         Secretary                                                         John Atchison

·         Treasurer                                                         Dave Krekel

·         Chief of Membership                                      Daniel Snarr

·         (2) board members                                          Joe Kremer, Brian Coulson, Ian Knighten

SCCA members may nominate candidates by contacting Tommy Taylor (208-745-5710) with the appropriate information.  Tommy is heading up the 2009 nominating committee.  Members being nominated for office must be SCCA members and willing to serve the appointed club duties for 2009 if they are elected to office.  Please do not nominate people without their knowledge and their agreement to serve.  NOMINATION OF CANDIDATES WILL CLOSE DEC 1.

2          Election of officers

Ballots for election of officers will be prepared and available for distribution at the club meeting scheduled for Wednesday, Dec 3 at Melina’s in Blackfoot.  You must be a Yellowstone Region SCCA member to vote for club officers. Completed ballots will be collected and counted at the awards banquet, Jan 17.  If you want to vote for club officers but are not attending the awards banquet, please deliver your ballots to Tommy Taylor prior to the awards banquet.  New officers will be announced at the awards banquet.

Airport Rules

The Pocatello airport is under new management this year. We need to be on our best behavior and please follow the airport requirements for us to be able to use their pavement.  Only drivers and workers are allowed to remain inside the fenced airport area.  Drivers may take guest passengers if the passenger is at least 12 years old, has signed the waiver, has a wrist band, a legal helmet, and is escorted within the fenced area.  No spectators are allowed inside the airport fenced area.  Drivers and workers must not block the marked fire lane at any time.  This is an active airport.  In the case of aircraft taxiing through our area, we will red flag any cars on course and stop running cars until the aircraft has cleared the area.  Be responsible guests of the airport, please pick up your trash and leave the area cleaner than we found it.
